When Chicken told me today that Facebook bought Instagram for a BILLION dollars I was temporarily sad. I’m not a fan of Facebook. I use it very little. Beyond the privacy issues, I object to Facebook’s stance on breastfeeding pictures. Breastfeeding is not lewd, it is not sexual, and it is not indecent. Then my brain worked for a few minutes and I had a fabulous idea. Why not start a movement where women take pictures of breastfeeding with Instagram? I wonder what will happen…
If you have pictures, leave links in the comments section. I’m going to start posting mine Tuesday morning. This could be so much fun.

I love this!
And now I must go through your posts and read about how wonderful it is to have a teenager so I can look forward to the next stage of parenting.
No! Don’t do it! Ahhhhhhhhh!
That’s such a beautiful pic.
I have some, but mine are somewhere in my flickr feed of 13,000, so not likely to be found. I didn’t label them #boobies or anything.
Thank you! You need to start labeling, ma’am! I keep telling myself I will go through all the pictures on my laptop and UGH. So many of them. TOO MANY. I need to retire. Or something.
Hahahaha! That’s awesome! I don’t have any breastfeeding pictures, as my husband is about worse than Facebook on the topic.
The reason I push the envelope on nursing in public is that it needs to be seen. People need to understand it is a baby eating, and more women will nurse when other women show them it can be done. Plus! Gets on soapbox! In countries where breastfeeding is the norm, there are fewer cases of plugged ducts and mastitis. Supposedly this is due to women feeding their babies anywhere and on demand, which is hard to due when you can only nurse under a cover/in a bathroom/in your own home/during a solar eclipse. Etc.
I’m new to Instagram, is there a way to like a photo if you’re on the computer and not a phone?
I could not find a way, but I blame two cranky little people in my house cock-blocking my computer usage.
i will ‘like’ every single one you post in support.
Awwww! Thank you!
It’s not a new picture, but I uploaded it to Instagram and tweeted it: http://t.co/kzY67CgO
My nursling is being camera shy tonight!
